Ronda Mcgowan

Ronda McGowan, age 66, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, October 22nd, 2023. Ronda was born on June 7th, 1957, in Burlington, Iowa to Mary Ann and James Dunegan Sr. She married the late Allen McGowan of Muscatine in 1993.

Ronda was a compassionate and caring individual who dedicated most of her working years as a CNA in the Muscatine area.

Ronda loved cats and found joy in their companionship. She enjoyed traveling, playing blackjack, gardening, camping, drawing and playing the piano. She loved to have fun. Ronda cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was an amazing mom and grandma.

Ronda is survived by her children, Jamie (Sean) Bruce of Muscatine, Justin (Rebecca) Smith of Bettendorf, and her special son, Collin Morehouse of Lowden. She is also survived by her sisters, Chris (Tim) Bernhart of Burlington and Debra (Jeff) Vierling of Mediapolis. Ronda leaves behind four beloved grandchildren, Aubrey and Nolan Haney, Charlotte and Jacqueline Smith, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and her cat, Coley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, James Dunegan Jr.

Inurnment will take place at Aspen Grove Cemetery on November 4th at 11:00 AM.

Ronda will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
