Rory Lee Dennison, passed away peacefully, on February 1, 2024, at the age of 67 in Colona, Illinois. He was born on April 5, 1956, to the late Roy Dennison and Jacqueline J. McElroy. Rory's warm spirit and undeniably bright sense of humor brought light into the lives of all who knew him. Per Rory’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Rory honorably served in the United States Army from 1973 to 1975. After his military service he was a dedicated truck driver, working for several Quad City companies, and later venturing into entrepreneurship with his own Dirty Deeds Trucking in the 2000’s. His work ethic and sense of responsibility served him well in his professional endeavors.
Throughout his life, Rory's adventurous nature kept him busy. He took pleasure in the simple joys, from shooting pool with friends in local pool leagues, where his funny and interesting personality made him a favored opponent and teammate. Rory enjoyed riding his Goldwing around town. In the years of his well-deserved retirement, Rory could often be found on the serene waters of the Rock River or the expansive Mississippi fishing for catfish. Rory loved being on his new 45th anniversary bass boat.
Rory married Judy Lindquist on March 27, 1976. Later married Christine Yager in Las Vegas, NV on September 25, 2001.
He leaves behind a beautiful family including his wife Christine, his daughters, Tanika Arnold and Lorielle Dennison; his brother Jeff Dennison (Robin); his sisters, Kim Fischer and Juile Farris; and his cherished grandchildren, Kayli Bird, Trenton Arnold, and Evayla Arnold. Rory also held a special place in his heart for his niece, Willow Yager and his mother-in-law Connie Yager. He was preceded in death by his late brother, Roger, and his parents.
Rory's life was full of adventure, laughter, and captivating stories. His memory will be treasured by all who were fortunate enough to cross his path. He will be profoundly missed, yet the echo of his laughter and stubbornness will be remembered by everyone.
