Sandra Ganther, age 72, of Moline, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 29, 2022, at her home. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, with a visitation one hour before the memorial service. Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline, IL, at a later date.
Born on December 27, 1949, in Beardstown, IL, she was the daughter of Frank and Alma (Dodds) Schaecher. She was united in marriage to Duane Ganther on October 5, 1996, in Moline, IL.
After graduating from Alleman High School in 1969, she proceeded to earn her certification from Cosmetology School. She worked as a department manager for Eagle Food Stores and then in the cafeteria department at Earl Hanson Elementary School before retiring in 2012.
She most enjoyed cooking and shopping for handbags. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Red Wings NHL Hockey Team and she was a season ticket holder for the Mallards Hockey team. Her passion was animals, especially her pet Yorkies.
Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan, IL.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Duane; children, Steve (Amber) Ganther, Havana, IL, Sara (Evan) Jones, Havana, IL; grandchildren, Kaleb, Jace, Carter, Erica; sisters, Jane (Randy) Billingsley, Rushville, IL, Lisa (Bill) Roberts, Rushville, IL, and Tamra (Mike Chandler) Cowan, Fort Wayne, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bob and Chris, a sister, Karen, and two grandsons Drew and Ashton.
