Stephanie Ann Schade, born to Lynn (Tuffy) and Cathy Schade, passed away on September 22, 2023, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House due to a complex health condition at the age of 39. Born on July 5, 1984, in Maquoketa, IA, Stephanie's life was a testament to her resilience and determination, as well as her deep love for her family, friends, and pets.
Stephanie was a graduate of St. Ambrose University, where she majored in psychology and behavioral neuroscience. She later obtained a master’s degree in psychology, showcasing her intellectual prowess. Her passion for understanding human behavior led her to a fulfilling 15-year career in the substance abuse research field, focusing on recovery and relapse prevention. Her work was not just a job, but a calling, and she was deeply committed to making a difference in the lives of those living with addiction.
Her love for her son Kamden was unparalleled. Stephanie's world revolved around him, and she was a beacon of strength and love for him. She was a fiercely protective mother, and her love for Kamden was a driving force in her life. Her family, friends, and pets were also recipients of this deep and unconditional love. Stephanie was a source of light to those around her, magnetic by nature, bubbly with her infectious laugh.
Stephanie had a profound connection with the outdoors. She found solace in nature and felt closer to God amidst the tranquility of the wilderness. This love for the outdoors was a testament to her adventurous spirit, and she relished every opportunity to embrace the beauty of nature.
Music, art, and singing brought joy to Stephanie's life. Her love for these creative outlets reflected her vibrant personality. She was adaptable, resilient, and always ready to embrace change. She was a lifelong learner, eager to explore new ideas and broaden her horizons. Her curiosity and zest for life were infectious, inspiring those around her to embrace life's adventures with enthusiasm and courage.
Stephanie's life, though it ended far too soon, was a testament to her strength, resilience and compassionate heart. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, auntie, sister…a beautiful soul inside and out, and an adventurous spirit who lived life to the fullest. Stephanie Ann Schade, a woman of intelligence and spirit, will be missed beyond measure but forever cherished.
Stephanie is survived by her son Kamden, father and mother Lynn (Tuffy) and Cathy, brother Matthew (Jill) Schade, sister Jessica (Scott) Butt, five nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Grand Mound Community Center (510 Smith St, Grand Mound, IA) on Saturday, October 7th from 12 pm to 4 pm.
