Steven Gerald Miller, 45, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished brother, passed away on April 2, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA, leaving behind a legacy filled with warmth, faith, and love. Born on May 16, 1979, in Peoria, IL, to Steven B. Miller. He married the love of his life, Miranda N. Miller (nee Pettibone), on August 3, 2002. Steven enriched the lives of everyone he met with his infectious spirit and kind heart.
Steven's pride and joy came from being a father to his beloved son, Donovan, whom he waited for eight long years. They created countless memories together, bonding over hunting and fishing excursions that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew them. He was not just a dad; he was a guide, a mentor, and a friend, always cheering Donovan on in every endeavor.
Education may have only taken him through the 8th grade, but Steven carried a wisdom that transcended formal schooling into a passion for carpentry. Family was important to him and started his own business to be there for his family and to pass on his knowledge to his young son. His life experiences forged a man of integrity who approached challenges with a Godly perspective. His interests were as diverse as his passions-whether it was singing, fishing, deer hunting, turkey hunting, bird hunting, squirrel hunting, rabbit hunting, or coon hunting. Steven embraced those moments fully, sharing them with loved ones and friends.
In his passing, Steven leaves behind a loving, devoted wife, Miranda, who stood by his side through thick and thin, navigating life's challenges hand in hand. He is also survived by his father Steven Miller, grandparents Richard and Camilla Miller, siblings Cami Weyeneth, Jason (Jessica) Miller, Eli (Stephanie) Miller, Daniel (Taylor) Miller, Moriah Miller, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever hold dear the memories of him. His vibrant personality made him a friend to many, he never met a stranger, and he took joy in sharing the Gospel with all who crossed his path.
Steven's memory will also be honored by those who have passed, including his cousins Tony Miller and Cooper Randall, great grandparents William and June Thompson, and Ernest and Ruth Miller, as well as the two babies he and his family cherished in their hearts.
Though his earthly journey has ended, Steven Gerald Miller's spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives he touched. His unwavering faith, joyful laughter and antics, and fond memories will remain a guiding force for his beloved family and friends, as they carry forward the lesson of love, humility, and the importance of family that he so passionately exemplified.
Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation & Direct Burial, 1811 15th Street Place, Moline, IL.
