Valerie Avey

August 12, 1956 — March 4, 2022

Valerie “Val” Jean Avey, 65, of Davenport, passed away on Friday, March 4th, 2022, with her daughter by her side. She was born in Davenport on August 12th,1956 to Paul and Cecilia (Daily) Fenn. She retired from the Rock Island Arsenal where she worked as a sheet metal fabricator. She was a strong, independent woman who loved to make people smile and loved to share a good joke. She was very giving to all she knew. She never wanted to trouble anyone with her problems but was always there to help with yours. She had a passion for horses and loved being around the barn with her horses. Her love for her children took first place (for the win), followed closely in second (to place) her family and friends and to take third place (to show) would be her animals. This cowgirl, wearing her cowgirl hat, has made it to heaven!

She is survived by her son Gary Jager of Davenport, her daughter Shanna Davis (Jimmy Webb), of East Moline, and her sister Debby Fenn of Bettendorf along with her many friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her mother Cecilia (Joy) VanDeryt, father Paul Fenn, great grandmother Gladys Daily, and brothers Shawn Fenn, Terry Mike Fenn and Scott “Butch” Fenn. A celebration of her life is being planned for a future date. Memorials can be made to her children. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.mvcremation.com
